Persons represented include Cephas Washburn (1793-1860), Presbyterian minister and missionary to the Cherokees, and his son, artist Edward Payson Washburn (1831-1860). Includes portraits of family members by Edward Payson Washburn as well as his painting, The Arkansas Traveller, which was lithiographed by Currier & Ives and became a popular print.
